SqueakFix carbon footprint commitment
For a long time, we wanted to find a meaningful way to offset our environmental impact. However, we weren’t entirely sure how to achieve this in a way that truly made a difference. That is until we discovered Ecologi.
We realised that the best way forward was to fund the professionals. By letting experts allocate and track funds where they are needed most, we can ensure our contributions have a real impact. Three years of positive climate action
We are proud to announce that we have now entered our third year of dedicated climate action. During this time, our SqueakFix carbon footprint commitment has helped avoid 140 tonnes of carbon emissions. We have achieved this by funding 26 unique carbon avoidance projects across the globe.
These projects range from preventing methane emissions at landfill sites in Brazil to supporting vital wind power projects in Thailand. Consequently, we are doing our bit to help protect the planet for future generations, including our own children and grandchildren.
Offsetting the impact of travel
Travel is a necessary part of our business, but we are committed to balancing that impact. To date, we have offset the equivalent of 102 long-haul flights from London to San Francisco. Furthermore, we have offset almost 350,000 miles of driving, roughly 116,000 miles per year.
This was a target we set early on. We wanted to ensure we were offsetting every single mile our staff members travel, and then some. Because we spend our days traveling to homes across the UK to fix squeaky floors, it is vital that we balance the scales of our SqueakFix carbon footprint commitment.
Planting for the future
Finally, we have planted nearly 1,700 trees to help sequester carbon for decades to come. These trees represent our investment in a greener, healthier future. However, we are not stopping there. Over the coming years, we plan to expand our commitment by funding specific CO2 removal and habitat restoration projects.
