A weekend of racing, remembrance and community

This weekend, SqueakFix were proud to support something very special, the Race of Remembrance at Anglesey Trac Môn Circuit in North Wales.

It’s a 12-hour endurance race that brings together drivers, teams and supporters from across the UK, all raising money for Mission Motorsport, a charity that helps veterans and service personnel through the power of motorsport.

The event is a real mix of emotions… fast-paced racing, friendly faces, and moments of quiet reflection. It’s a reminder that while motorsport is about competition and adrenaline, it can also bring people together for a deeply meaningful cause.

Fun, foolishness and soggy bananas!

Our marketing team and our sponsored drivers got involved in one of the lighter parts of the weekend, the Biathlon of Foolishness, and it lived up to its name!

Participants had to run part of the circuit, race down the hillside, take a quick dip in the icy Irish Sea, and then sprint back up to the pits. There were all sorts of costumes on show: Superwoman, Aliens, Mario Brothers, and our team proudly dressed as bananas and French maids!

At one point, a seal even popped its head up to see what on earth was going on. It was cold, chaotic, and completely hilarious… a brilliant way to start the weekend.

Battling the weather and the track

Sunday brought some truly dreadful weather, strong winds, heavy rain and that famous Welsh chill. But nothing could dampen the spirit of the drivers or the teams. Everyone pulled together to keep the race going, even when conditions were at their worst.

The team we sponsored faced their fair share of challenges too, with some major clutch and gearbox problems, but they refused to give up, and after 12 long hours, they crossed the finish line. A fantastic achievement in tough conditions.

A time to remember

Amidst all the racing and laughter, there was also a powerful moment of silence on Sunday at 11am. All the cars stopped, engines off, as everyone gathered in the paddock to pay their respects. The atmosphere was incredibly moving, a moment of stillness that reminded us all why this event takes place.

It was a weekend full of fun, friendship and reflection… one we were truly proud to be a part of.

Today, on 11th November, we pause again to remember all those who have served and sacrificed.

Lest we forget.
